2011 PROGRAMS

June 26 -Destination Chautauqua, a special look at Chautauqua as a resort community in the early 20th century, with photographs only recently made available to the Historical Society—a “never seen before” opportunity. Paul Brammeier will provide commentary and answer questions, Town Hall, 7:30 PM.

July 4 - Honoring the Citizen Soldier, our traditional Fourth of July celebration, 10 AM, a military funeral flag exchange by the Chautauqua Veterans Flag Detail and remarks honoring the men and women of Chautauqua who served our country in peace and war, Auditorium hillside.

July 7 - The Jacoby Collection, an eArchives Experience, a trip through the Chautauqua past, seen through the wonder of digital technology, Wanamaker Hall, Principia College, 7 PM.

July 10 - the Ninth Annual Chautauqua Platform Lecture, Scott Adams. This year’s Platform Lecture is The Making of the Great River Road, with photos and reminiscences from the 1960s and the completion of a more than 20 year project, Auditorium, 7:30 PM.

July 31- A Blake Hansen Encore. Blake Hansen  is a young, gifted violinist and pianist, Concertmaster of the Principia College Symphony Orchestra, and recent graduate. This will be Blake’s second appearance in our community. Kupferle Chapel, 7:30 PM, reception to follow.
